A Recognition That Means More Than an Award

ECOcentrix Consulting, LLC is proud to announce that Mollie Olson, CEO & Founder, has been named one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40 honorees.
The annual 40 Under 40 program recognizes 40 emerging leaders across the St. Louis region who are making an impact through their leadership, businesses, industries, and communities.
For Olson, the recognition represents both a personal milestone and an important moment for ECOcentrix—a company she founded with a vision of helping make buildings more efficient, sustainable, comfortable, and high-performing.
A Goal That Took a Different Path
For years, Olson had a personal goal of being recognized on a “30 Under 30” list.
“It was something I wanted for myself and something I talked about with my dad time and time again,” said Olson. “I never made the 30 Under 30 list, and eventually I stopped thinking it would happen.”
Her father passed away before she had the opportunity to share this moment with him.
“Knowing that he’s no longer here to see this makes this recognition hit differently,” Olson said. “I know how proud he would be, not just because of the recognition itself, but because he knew how much work, persistence, and heart went into building ECOcentrix.”
Being named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 feels less like finally checking a box and more like a full-circle moment.
“It’s funny how sometimes the things you think you missed out on end up leading you somewhere even better,” Olson said. “I may not have made a 30 Under 30 list, but being recognized years later for what I’ve built, the people I’ve worked with, and the impact we’re making means so much more to me now.”

Since its founding, ECOcentrix has grown into a multidisciplinary building performance and energy solutions company serving homeowners, developers, architects, builders, contractors, property owners, and organizations.

As CEO, Olson leads the company’s strategic direction, business development, operations, partnerships, client relationships, and continued growth.
“Building a business has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life,” Olson said. “There have been plenty of difficult days and moments when I questioned whether I was doing things the right way. But there have also been incredible people, clients, partners, opportunities, and experiences that have made every step worthwhile.”
Leadership With a Purpose
Olson’s approach to leadership centers on connecting technical expertise with practical outcomes.
Through ECOcentrix, she works with leaders across the building and construction industries to identify opportunities to improve building performance, reduce energy consumption and costs, and make smarter long-term decisions.
Her work reflects a broader belief that sustainability and business performance don’t have to be competing priorities.
Better-performing buildings can create better outcomes for businesses, property owners, occupants, and communities.
That philosophy continues to shape the direction of ECOcentrix as the company expands its capabilities and looks toward the future.
A Recognition Shared With Many
While the 40 Under 40 recognition carries Olson’s name, she views it as a reflection of the people who have been part of the journey.
“I couldn’t have built ECOcentrix alone,” Olson said. “I’m incredibly grateful for our clients who trusted us, our team who continues to push the company forward, our partners and industry colleagues, and the people in my life who supported me along the way.”
And, of course, there is one person she wishes could be here to celebrate it with her.
“I wish I could call my dad and tell him,” Olson said. “I know exactly what he would say, and I know he would be incredibly proud.”
Looking Ahead
Olson and the other 2026 honorees will be recognized at the St. Louis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 celebration on November 5, 2026.
For Olson, the recognition is less about reaching a finish line and more about recognizing how far the journey has come.
“I’m proud of what we’ve built, but I’m even more excited about what comes next,” Olson said. “There is so much opportunity to continue improving how we design, build, operate, and think about buildings. We’re just getting started.”
