Empowering the Next Generation: Getting Kids Involved in Your Decision to go Solar!

Involving your kids in your decision to go solar is a great way to educate them about renewable energy, empower them to understand climate change, and create a lasting family memory. After all, they are the ones who will inherit the planet, so it’s important to get them excited about protecting it.

Here are a few tips on how to get your kids involved in your solar installation decision:

1. Explain the basics of solar energy.

Start by teaching your kids about the sun and how it can be used to create electricity. You can also take them to a solar panel installation or a renewable energy fair to see solar panels in action.  Solar energy is not only a fun STEM topic, but it’s also one of the many puzzle pieces that can address the climate crisis we’re facing. Here are some great resources to use:

2. Let them help you do your research.

Once your kids have a basic understanding of solar energy, get them involved in the proposal process. At ECOcentrix Energy Solutions we are always happy to include them in the conversation and answer their questions. This is a great way to teach them about critical thinking and decision-making. You can also have them help you compare quotes and read reviews.

3. Take them on a site visit.

When you’ve narrowed down your choices, take your kids on a site visit to see a solar panel installation in person. This will give them a better understanding of how the system works and what it will look like on your roof.

4. Get them creative.

Let your kids help you design a sign or banner to announce your solar installation to the neighborhood. You can also have them create a video or presentation about solar energy to share with their classmates or friends.

5. Celebrate your achievement!

Once your solar panels are installed, throw a party to celebrate your achievement! This is a great way to show your kids how proud you are of them for being involved in the process.

By involving your kids in your solar installation decision, you can help them become passionate about renewable energy while creating a lasting family memory.

At ECOcentrix Energy Solutions, we are ready to begin your energy journey with you and your family!
